Portraiture

This is one of my favourite pieces, a striking and dynamic composition, bursting with energy and emotion. The bold and erratic brushstrokes create a sense of intensity and urgency. The figure appears to be shouting however the reason for her outburst remains elusive and the tension in her expression invites the viewer to question: Why is she shouting? The ambiguity of her emotions adds layers of mystery and prompts each viewer to project their own interpretations. The unanswered question of what led to the intense expression makes this piece intriguing both physically and emotionally.

This is a portrayal of a woman suffering from domestic violence, it is a stark and powerful portrayal of pain, highlighted by the intense red of her wounds which draw immediate attention to her fragile state, symbolsing both her physical and emotional trauma. Her seemingly emotionless expression conveys the silent suffering many endure in the face of abuse. The contrast between the intensity of her wounds and her stillness creates a raw emotional impact, making the viewer confront the harsh reality of domestic violence. This piece doesn't just depict pain, it demands attention, urging empathy and reflection on this often-hidden crisis.

Similar to my other pieces this painting also captures a sense of intensity and urgency as well as the mystery to her emotions which produces a different interpretation for each viewer
